The Inspiration
Design Inspiration & colours
Ebony and Karl wanted a simple, yet beautiful country vibe with a modern twist for their Wedding Day on their private property located at Upper Caboolture, just north of Brisbane. From the lush bush backdrop for their ceremony, to the lounge style pre-dinner drinks space complete with swinging love chair, wine barrels and seating options to the final destination for the night, the huge marquee surrounded by lanterns and lit up with fairy lights and festoons.
With such a huge space to work with and a fairly minimal styling budget, we really needed to consider our design and how we could combine the country look with that modern vibe and create the beauty they were looking for. With lush imported roses as the main floral inspiration element we knew we had the basis to create a country reception that was beautiful yet simple and uncomplicated in it’s design.
The Flowers
With a colour palette inspired by the country full of rust, blush, creams and greenery and a focus on reflexed roses, we knew these lush imported roses Quicksand’s, Sahara’s, White O’Haras were going to be the florals we needed. Knowing that special orders for these imports needed at least 3-4 week lead time and can be difficult to secure, we also ordered early and worked with several suppliers to ensure we could deliver our vision.
The Wedding
Our lush garden inspired arrangements created for their ceremony were a beautiful addition to their newly built bush timber arbour and complimented the space beautifully. To reduce costs, we created these arrangements using a combination of our real touch and large head artificial roses and a mixture of fresh greenery to create a more natural feature. This combination is something we do as a hire option for our clients often, as it provides the lush look for large installation without the fresh purchase costs.
The Celebration
With a large marquee seating around 120 guests with long timber banquet tables and dark timber chairs, simple yet beautiful was the brief. So, we continued with the florals aspect throughout with minimal floral arrangements of reflexed roses and greenery, with scattered pillar candles and tea lights. We always recommend with outdoor country Weddings to have additional soft lighting, the more the better we say! It can get dark so if you can budget for extra lighting options it’s well worth it! Consider some uplighting too, for that extra special touch!
We also suggest amping up the styling factor on your Bridal table, after all your table is the most important of them all and there’ll be lots of pictures taken throughout the night! So, we added some low-cost options, like soft toffee coloured tapered candles and champagne coloured holders from our collection from Southern Lights Candle Co paired with a mix of our gold tapered candle holders and pillar candles. If you have the budget, we also suggest adding soft fabrics to your tables to soften the edges and give you that extra bit of elegance and romance.
By adding the use of colour and texture by using metallics, soft fabrics, ambient lighting and other details to your floral elements, we can create a beautiful and dreamy tablescape for you and your guests that will provide those forever memories that you and your guest will remember forever….
